Pienen radiokatkoksen jälkeen voimme ilmoittaa, että olemme päässeet perille Martiniin!
Prahassa jouduimme viimeiseksi yöksi vaihtamaan hotellihuonetta, syy jäi edelleen hieman epäselväksi. Ko. huoneessa ei wifi toiminut, vaikka sen piti. Makuuhuone oli täysi painajainen, sängyt oli kivikovia ja tyynyissä oli taas pehmeyttä niidenkin edestä. Sänky oli siis pitkälti nukkumiskelvoton.. Ja mikä parasta, makuuhuoneen ikkuna oli "kotikadulle" päin, eli siihen suosittuun turistipubiin, U Flekuun. Ja mikäs sen parempaa, kuin 30 brittinuorta huutamassa ikkunan alla kolmelta aamuyöllä. Nukuttuja tunteja kertyi tuona yönä karkeasti arvioituna kolme.
Sunnuntaiaamuna suuntasimme matkalaukkuinemme Prahan juna-asemalle, josta juna kohti Martinia lähti 11 jälkeen. Yhteys oli onneksi suora, eikä tarvinnut pelätä eksymistä. Junassa köröttelimme 6 tuntia ja matkalla oli upeita maisemia pelloista vuoriin. Perillä olimme puoli kuuden maissa illalla ja saimme jo heti esimakua slovak-timesta, kun odottelimme kyytiä n. 10min, vaikka junakin oli myöhässä suunnilleen saman verran. Pääsimme asuntolaamme ja lähdimme melkein samantien ruokakauppaan, kun saimme autokyydin. Uni maistui hyvin ja aamulla heräsimme henkilökunnan aamiaiselle ja tutustuimme henkilökuntaan sekä koulualueeseen. Tunnin päästä meitä odottaa ensimmäinen lounas, mielenkiinnolla odotamme mitä meille on tarjolla.. Tämä viikko menee vielä pitkälti tutustuessa Martiniin ja ensi viikolla pääsemme sitten työn tohinaan. Tiistaisin pääsemme tutustumaan vanhan testamentin teologiaan kun taas torstaisin opiskelemme uutta testamenttia. Muu ohjelma selvinnee myöhemmin tällä viikolla.
Palaamme myöhemmin vielä Prahan muihin päiviin ja varmaan jossain vaiheessa esittelemme tätä omaa huoneistoammekin, onneksi meillä on oma wc ja keittiö! Mutta joitain hankintoja meinasimme tänne tehdä, että saamme tästä vähän kotoisamman. Täällä kuitenkin tullaan asumaan seuraavat kolme kuukautta. Mukavaa viikkoa!
//After a small radio silence we can announce that we have arrived to Martin!
In Prague we had to change the hotel room for the last night, we still don´t exactly know why. In that room the wifi wouldn't work although it was supposed to. The bedroom was a total nightmare, the beds were hard as rock and the pillows were too soft. So basically it was impossible to sleep on the bed. And the best part was that below our window was the local bar U Fleku which is very popular among tourists. So what would be better than to have 30 british teenagers shouting in front of our window at 3am. Roughly estimated we slept around 3 hours that night..
On sunday morning we took our luggages and found our way to the Prague trainstation from where we took the train to Martin at 11am. Fortunately, the connection was direct so we didn't have to worry about getting lost. It took us 6 hours in the train and the scenery was beautiful, varying from fields to mountains. We arrived here around 5.30pm and could already get a taste of the slovak time, our ride being late 10 min, even after our train was 10 min delayed. Finally we got to the dormitory and left almost immediately to the grociery store since we got a lift. We slept like babies in the night and this morning we woke up for the staff breakfast where we got to know the staff and later they showed around the area. In an hour we will go for our first lunch and are interested to see what it's going to be like. This week we will just get to know Martin and next week we will start our studies and other chores. On tuesdays we are going to study the theology of old testament and on thursdays we will have the introduction of the new testament. Later this week we should find out what else we will be doing.
We will still get back to you with the other days we spent in Prague and will probably show you our apartment, thankfully we have our own toilet and kitchen! But we were thinking of buying a few more things just to make the apt a bit more homily since we are going to live here for the next three months. Have a nice week!
